ALLEN, mid 1800's. I am seeking information about the family of John ALLEN who is believed to have come to Williamson County from North Carolina by way of Kentucky about 1820-1840. He married Lavissa SWANNER. Their children were William (m. Sarah ROPER), Sarah (m. Wm BOWICK) , Rosa (m. Wm TRAVELSTEAD), Paulina (m. John PARKS, Harriet (m.James BOWER), Eldon (m. Lovina HUDDLESTON), Daniel, and Amanda (m. Marion BREWER). Two sons are believed to have fought for the Union in the Civil War. I have a letter written 35 years ago that says "An ALLEN reunion is held the first Sunday in June at Coal Bank Church out from Marion, Illinois. John Allen donated the land for the cemetery there."

CAGLE, 1880-1900. Looking for any information about William Allen CAGLE (born c1858 in Williamson County) and his wife Eliza Jane RUSHING (born c1853 in Tennessee). They married in Williamson County in 1877. They appear in the 1880 Williamson County Census with one daughter, Nora A., born in 1879. I know that they had at least three other children: Vincent (born 1884), Ellen (born 1886) and Eva (born 1891). I believe that Eliza Jane died around 1891-93; William evidently remarried a woman named Elizabeth in 1893 and appears with her in the 1900 Census, but Vincent is living with an uncle, Charley Cagle. How many children did William and Eliza have, and what were their names? When did William and Eliza die? Where are they buried? (Family tradition says they are both buried in a small cemetery near Carterville, but I haven't been able to locate it.)

WILLIAMS, 1830-1996. I am collecting information on all WILLIAMS families in Williamson County from 1830-1996. Questions include: What was the last name of the second wife of William Wesley WILLIAMS? William was son of John Wesley WILLIAMS. William was born June 1870 Williamson County and died in 1935 at Johnston City. His second wife's first name was Parrett; what was her last name? What are her birth and death dates? Also, I need information on Marion M. WILLIAMS born about 1879 Williamson County of James & Spicey (WILLIAMS) WILLIAMS. He lived in Johnston City in the 1920 census with his wife Georgia, mother Spicey and nephew Ernest PARKS. What was Marion's full date of birth? When and where did he die? Did he have children? I believe he may have lived in Detroit, Michigan for awhile. Did he have only one marriage? Contact me if you know anything about this family or Spicey's family.
